The image’s central region, containing the star cluster, blends visible-light data taken by the Advanced Camera for Surveys and near-infrared exposures taken by the Wide Field Camera 3. The surrounding region is composed of visible-light observations taken by the Advanced Camera for Surveys.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/nebulsa-planetaria-ngc6302.jpg</image:loc><image:title>nebulsa-planetaria-ngc6302</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/nebulosa-del-cangrejo.jpg</image:loc><image:title>Most detailed image of the Crab Nebula</image:title><image:caption>This Hubble image gives the most detailed view of the entire Crab Nebula ever. The Crab is among the most interesting and well studied objects in astronomy. This image is the largest image ever taken with Hubble's WFPC2 camera. It was assembled from 24 individual exposures taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and is the highest resolution image of the entire Crab Nebula ever made.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/nebulosa-de-orion.jpg</image:loc><image:title>Hubble's sharpest view of the Orion Nebula</image:title><image:caption>This dramatic image offers a peek inside a cavern of roiling dust and gas where thousands of stars are forming. The image, taken by the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) aboard NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, represents the sharpest view ever taken of this region, called the Orion Nebula. More than 3,000 stars of various sizes appear in this image. Some of them have never been seen in visible light. These stars reside in a dramatic dust-and-gas landscape of plateaus, mountains, and valleys that are reminiscent of the Grand Canyon. The Orion Nebula is a picture book of star formation, from the massive, young stars that are shaping the nebula to the pillars of dense gas that may be the homes of budding stars. The bright central region is the home of the four heftiest stars in the nebula. The stars are called the Trapezium because they are arranged in a trapezoid pattern. Ultraviolet light unleashed by these stars is carving a cavity in the nebula and disrupting the growth of hundreds of smaller stars. Located near the Trapezium stars are stars still young enough to have disks of material encircling them. These disks are called protoplanetary disks or "proplyds" and are too small to see clearly in this image. The disks are the building blocks of solar systems. The bright glow at upper left is from M43, a small region being shaped by a massive, young star's ultraviolet light. Astronomers call the region a miniature Orion Nebula because only one star is sculpting the landscape. The Orion Nebula has four such stars. Next to M43 are dense, dark pillars of dust and gas that point toward the Trapezium. These pillars are resisting erosion from the Trapezium's intense ultraviolet light. The glowing region on the right reveals arcs and bubbles formed when stellar winds - streams of charged particles ejected from the Trapezium stars - collide with material. The faint red stars near the bottom are the myriad brown dwarfs that Hubble spied for the first time in the nebula in visi</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/los-pilares-de-la-creacion.jpg</image:loc><image:title>New view of the Pillars of Creation — visible</image:title><image:caption>The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has revisited one of its most iconic and popular images: the Eagle Nebula’s Pillars of Creation. This image shows the pillars as seen in visible light, capturing the multi-coloured glow of gas clouds, wispy tendrils of dark cosmic dust, and the rust-coloured elephants’ trunks of the nebula’s famous pillars. The dust and gas in the pillars is seared by the intense radiation from young stars and eroded by strong winds from massive nearby stars. With these new images comes better contrast and a clearer view for astronomers to study how the structure of the pillars is changing over time.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/las-galaxias-antena.jpg</image:loc><image:title>Antennae Galaxies reloaded</image:title><image:caption>The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has snapped the best ever image of the Antennae Galaxies. Hubble has released images of these stunning galaxies twice before, once using observations from its Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) in 1997, and again in 2006 from the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS). Each of Hubble’s images of the Antennae Galaxies has been better than the last, due to upgrades made during the famous servicing missions, the last of which took place in 2009. The galaxies — also known as NGC 4038 and NGC 4039 — are locked in a deadly embrace. Once normal, sedate spiral galaxies like the Milky Way, the pair have spent the past few hundred million years sparring with one another. This clash is so violent that stars have been ripped from their host galaxies to form a streaming arc between the two. In wide-field images of the pair the reason for their name becomes clear — far-flung stars and streamers of gas stretch out into space, creating long tidal tails reminiscent of antennae. This new image of the Antennae Galaxies shows obvious signs of chaos. Clouds of gas are seen in bright pink and red, surrounding the bright flashes of blue star-forming regions — some of which are partially obscured by dark patches of dust. The rate of star formation is so high that the Antennae Galaxies are said to be in a state of starburst, a period in which all of the gas within the galaxies is being used to form stars. This cannot last forever and neither can the separate galaxies; eventually the nuclei will coalesce, and the galaxies will begin their retirement together as one large elliptical galaxy. This image uses visible and near-infrared observations from Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), along with some of the previously-released observations from Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS).</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/la-nebulosa-del-caballo-en-infrarrojo.jpg</image:loc><image:title>New infrared view of the Horsehead Nebula — Hubble’s 23rd an</image:title><image:caption>This new Hubble image, captured and released to celebrate the telescope’s 23rd year in orbit, shows part of the sky in the constellation of Orion (The Hunter). Rising like a giant seahorse from turbulent waves of dust and gas is the Horsehead Nebula, otherwise known as Barnard 33. This image shows the region in infrared light, which has longer wavelengths than visible light and can pierce through the dusty material that usually obscures the nebula’s inner regions. The result is a rather ethereal and fragile-looking structure, made of delicate folds of gas — very different to the nebula’s appearance in visible light.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/imagen-de-10000-galaxias-en-el-campo-profundo.jpg</image:loc><image:title>Hubble sees galaxies galore</image:title><image:caption>Galaxies, galaxies everywhere - as far as the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope can see. This view of nearly 10,000 galaxies is the deepest visible-light image of the cosmos. Called the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, this galaxy-studded view represents a "deep" core sample of the universe, cutting across billions of light-years. The snapshot includes galaxies of various ages, sizes, shapes, and colours. The smallest, reddest galaxies, about 100, may be among the most distant known, existing when the universe was just 800 million years old. The nearest galaxies - the larger, brighter, well-defined spirals and ellipticals - thrived about 1 billion years ago, when the cosmos was 13 billion years old. In vibrant contrast to the rich harvest of classic spiral and elliptical galaxies, there is a zoo of oddball galaxies littering the field. Some look like toothpicks; others like links on a bracelet. A few appear to be interacting. These oddball galaxies chronicle a period when the universe was younger and more chaotic. Order and structure were just beginning to emerge. The Ultra Deep Field observations, taken by the Advanced Camera for Surveys, represent a narrow, deep view of the cosmos. Peering into the Ultra Deep Field is like looking through a 2.5 metre-long soda straw. In ground-based photographs, the patch of sky in which the galaxies reside (just one-tenth the diameter of the full Moon) is largely empty. Located in the constellation Fornax, the region is so empty that only a handful of stars within the Milky Way galaxy can be seen in the image. In this image, blue and green correspond to colours that can be seen by the human eye, such as hot, young, blue stars and the glow of Sun-like stars in the disks of galaxies. Red represents near-infrared light, which is invisible to the human eye, such as the red glow of dust-enshrouded galaxies. The image required 800 exposures taken over the course of 400 Hubble orbits around Earth. The total amount of exposure time was 11.3 days,</image:caption></image:image><lastmod>2021-09-15T18:23:46+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>weekly</changefreq><priority>0.6</priority></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2021/07/20/turismo-aeroespacial-espanol/</loc><lastmod>2021-09-15T18:04:26+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2021/07/19/buenas-noticias-sobre-la-inmunidad-frente-a-la-covid-19/</loc><lastmod>2021-07-19T10:46:02+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2021/07/19/inundaciones-y-cambio-climatico/</loc><lastmod>2021-07-19T09:45:19+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2021/02/23/el-campo-magnetico-se-debilita/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/magnetic_north_pole_positions_2015.svg_.png</image:loc><image:title>Magnetic_North_Pole_Positions_2015.svg</image:title></image:image><lastmod>2021-02-23T11:03:29+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2021/02/22/volvemos-a-marte/</loc><lastmod>2021-02-23T09:33:32+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2020/10/02/video-de-marte/</loc><lastmod>2020-10-02T18:43:32+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2020/09/04/otra-vez-las-ondas-gravitacionales/</loc><lastmod>2020-09-04T18:17:23+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2020/05/29/para-gente-abierta-de-mente-abstenerse-los-que-no-lo-sean/</loc><lastmod>2020-05-30T19:35:25+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2018/03/30/materia-y-energia-oscuras/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/city.jpg</image:loc><image:title>city</image:title></image:image><lastmod>2020-02-23T11:25:04+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2020/02/23/el-boson-de-higgs-y-el-modelo-estandar/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/modelo_standard_particulas_subatc3b3micas.png</image:loc><image:title>Modelo_standard_particulas_subatómicas</image:title></image:image><lastmod>2020-02-23T11:16:29+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2020/01/14/betelgeuse-pierde-brillo/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/supernova-sn-1987a-nasa-hubble-esa-stsci-opo9719b.jpg</image:loc><image:title>supernova-sn-1987a-nasa-hubble-esa-stsci-opo9719b</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/220px-orionsouth.jpg</image:loc><image:title>220px-OrionSouth</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/800px-orion_constellation_map.svg_.png</image:loc><image:title>800px-Orion_constellation_map.svg</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/orion_l.gif</image:loc><image:title>orion_l</image:title></image:image><lastmod>2020-01-14T13:24:38+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2019/11/20/historia-de-la-astronomia/</loc><lastmod>2019-11-20T11:56:10+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2019/07/22/50-aniversario-de-la-llegada-del-hombre-a-la-luna/</loc><lastmod>2019-07-22T09:16:40+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2019/05/26/energia-undimotriz/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/x14704.jpg.pagespeed.ic_.avwkh8hjbv.jpg</image:loc><image:title>x14704.jpg.pagespeed.ic.avWKH8hJbv</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/central-undimotriz.jpg</image:loc><image:title>Central-undimotriz</image:title></image:image><lastmod>2019-05-26T11:29:34+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2019/02/10/orientacion-nueva-pagina/</loc><lastmod>2019-02-10T11:23:43+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2019/01/15/novedades-en-la-exploracion-espacial/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/cara-oculta-luna-4.png</image:loc><image:title>cara-oculta-luna-4</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/cara-oculta-luna-3.png</image:loc><image:title>cara-oculta-luna-3</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/ultima-thule.jpg</image:loc><image:title>ultima By understanding the mechanisms that fuel and hinder star production in these nearby galaxies, SINGS astronomers hope to solve the mystery of where galaxies come from, and how they've developed throughout the universe's history.&#13;&#13;"Once the SINGS observations were done, I began to wonder how to look at all of the galaxies and make sense of the big picture. The SINGS sample of 75 galaxies was just too many to display at once on a computer screen and still be able to appreciate the spatial details present in the images," said Dr. Karl Gordon, of the Space Science Telescope Institute, in Baltimore, Md., who is a member of the SINGS team.&#13;&#13;Eventually, Gordon decided to create a poster with the 75 galaxies organized by shape -- using the classification system that astronomer Edwin Hubble created in 1925, soon after the physical nature of galaxies was discovered. The grouping system is called "Hubble's Tuning-Fork" because its overarching shape resembles a musical tuning-fork.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/hubblesite_tuning_fork.jpg</image:loc><image:title>hubblesite_tuning_fork</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/hubble_sequence-svg.png</image:loc><image:title>hubble_sequence-svg</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/130005-k9jd-510x286abc.jpg</image:loc><image:title>130005-k9jd-510x286abc</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/hubble_sequence_photo.png</image:loc><image:title>hubble_sequence_photo</image:title></image:image><lastmod>2017-01-12T14:56:39+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2016/11/21/vida-extraterrestre/</loc><lastmod>2016-12-02T09:48:05+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2016/09/17/la-circunferencia-de-feuerbach/</loc><lastmod>2016-09-17T19:25:35+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2016/08/31/el-seti-y-proxima-b/</loc><lastmod>2016-08-31T19:35:11+00:00</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url><url><loc>https://luisjonu.com/2016/07/14/la-fusion-nuclear-europea/</loc><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/drone_riche_07_16_ok_light_small.jpg</image:loc><image:title>drone_riche_07_16_ok_light_small</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/pit_cloudy_small_02062016.jpg</image:loc><image:title>pit_cloudy_small_02062016</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/tkm_cplx_final_plasma2013-07.jpg</image:loc><image:title>tkm_cplx_final_plasma2013-07</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/jg05-537-1c.jpg</image:loc><image:title>JG05.537-1c</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/iter2.jpg</image:loc><image:title>ITER2</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/iter1.jpg</image:loc><image:title>ITER1</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/iter.jpg</image:loc><image:title>ITER</image:title></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://luisjonu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/fusion-2.gif</image:loc><image:title>Fusion
